I tried this the other day, I made the title bar like 5 pixels bigger and the scroll bars as well and now it’s spot on and looks just about the same.

@MikeDrevious I can’t believe I did’nt think of trying that before… /duh I’ll have to make a custom profile/theme for the tablet and post it up when I get a chance.
Thanks for the idea.

If you search “Window color and metrics” you can open up the windows color and appearance menu to change things like active title bar size (making it easier to press the close button and such)

@arni0202 I will, be sure to subscribe as well so you don’t miss it. YouTube is horrible on sending email notifications on conversation updates.

That is exactly what I was trying to point out in my iPad thoughts video. I have apple certifications and like some of their products, but the iPad for $500 is a joke. I could swear they released it just to make fun of the people who buy it.

This is the thing. While I do like Apple, and their products (own stock in them actually), the truth is, only Apple can sell a spiffier version of something with less features and have everyone think it’s something brand new and go crazy for it.
The iPad is cool, but it’s lacking so much functionality. It wouldn’t make sense to just take it on a trip, it simply can’t do enough. And Apple will probably make it very expensive.
This netbook is at least half as expensive and has twice the features

I didn’t show it in the review, but this Asus does some with a touch screen designed application for launching, and managing applications. There are a few windows applications designed specifically for touch screen use, you just don’t hear about them.
I’ll have to dig up some good ones and do a top 5 video on them.

I love my PCs, however I can see how apple really has cracked the the touchscreen market, atm.
ipad, is such a visually interactive software/hardware package designed for expression based gesture, it is a true virtual port touchscreen (designed purely for this experience – think that windows table)
Even though this review of the new Asus shows just what a fantastic proctuct it really is, its still just windows 7 with a plane old touch screen!(but a good one at that!)
Cheers for the review!

one finger OR two finger is possible. On screen it is best to use one, the track pad uses two finger.
You can use both a stylus or your finger to interact with the screen, even the end of a pen (I would’nt recommend it though)

Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it

Believe it or not, but I am a huge apple fan. I enjoy my 2 macs one macbook laptop and 25” desktop. The only thing I do not like about mac is how so many things are incompatable with mac other than that I do love it. Although I am a college student and have been looking for a netbook. I have actually seen this one several times in the store and played with it. I DO CONSIDER THIS A BETTER OPTION THAN THE IPAD. It has more to offer even though I hate windows. Good job on the review.

Yea when Apple was releasing the iPad with all their hype I realized it was basically them saying, “Look at this great new thing we have created! We’ll call it iFire!!! It will make heat and scare away wild animals!” Good review, maybe I shall buy one of these when I head into college

I would’ve recommended stretching that virtual keyboard out. Does it take two fingers to scroll or one? And also, is it a capacitive screen?
DefconComputers posted: 07 Feb at 10:26 pm
@arni0202 Yep, they pick and choose what they like out of the keynote. I think they are just trying to pinpoint a product to compare it with and they don’t want to admit that Apple tried to compare it to a netbook. Now everyone is trying to compare it to the Kindle DX
arni0202 posted: 07 Feb at 10:26 pm
@DefconComputers haha I’m sure they’re giving you the key note speech verbatim. The Ipad is so innovative, it has an A4 ARM processor, blah blah. The thing is too limited to appeal to a large demographic. It’s not portable, not cheap, has no camera, no multitasking, no flash, and an AT&T data service. It is more a step backwards than forwards. Did you know the display is 4:3? ridiculous.
DefconComputers posted: 07 Feb at 10:26 pm
Yeah I’m getting a bunch of flak from Apple fans on the iPad, they don’t seem to be aware that a PC multi touch tablet has existed for awhile now, and the iPad brings nothing new to the table.

I bet the next iteration of this tablet-netbook will have an accelerometer that would be nice to see. It would also be nice to see HDMI on netbooks but they’re not really powerful enough to support dual monitor stuff…. Great Review I want one. Screw the Ipad that thing is awful
